Mtaa is a Swahili word meaning 'Street'. This series contemplates the everyday routines and social dynamics present in our neighbourhoods, illustrating how individuals allocate their time. The narrative stems from my observations of two locales, Mkunguni and Muyegeya, within the Kinondoni district of Dar es Salaam. As a photographer, Mtaa has not only facilitated my connections with people but also serves as a platform through which we understand that accountability originates from within ourselves. It serves as a hub for our residences, offering glimpses into our personal worlds within the streets.
