Sakhavarz Painting Natural World
Book Design, 2021

A visual artist from Mississauga, Sakhavarz began his career with editorial cartoons and has continued to work in painting and sculpting, particularly over the past two decades.
"We often look without truly seeing. I prefer to share the joy of seeing, as opposed to mere observation. Nature compels you to see and pay attention, and if you do, an immeasurable and unforgettable experience awaits you. The paintings featured in this book are selected samples from a body of work spanning the last forty years. I initially focused on painting birds and gradually broadened my subject matter to include animals," he wrote in the book's introduction.

"The styling, incorporating generous whitespace and classic typography, guides the reader's focus to the intricacies of one of Canada's marvellous art collections on wild nature".
This project was particularly meaningful to me because I've known him for over four decades. I maintained the book's layouts with elegance, cleanliness, and simplicity to complement the minimalist aesthetic and striking imagery. This approach emphasizes the artwork, allowing it to breathe on the page. The styling, incorporating generous whitespace and classic typography, guides the reader's focus to the intricacies of one of Canada's marvellous art collections on wild nature. Simultaneously, it underscores the beauty and immediacy of the artworks.
This book is printed on Mohawk Superfine Eggshell paper in a limited edition by Blurb.
