Festival Hotel
In this project, an alternative festival project, the emphasis lies on the experience of a rock festival, not so much the luxurious benefits of a typical hotel. My influences were inspired by both the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, where art is an important concept, and the Favela atmosphere in Brasil. 'Favela slums' have this typical, distinctive mood that inspired me to work with cheap, industrial materials such as containers and scaffolding. These materials create a rather sloppy and artistic 'look and feel', which is an important goal of this project. In addition to its atmosphere they create, the materials are in fact easy to assemble and convenient to move from one location to another.
