Bristol - I Wish You Were Here

The Wish I Was There project was a research project around our hometowns, from there we had to design a fitting project to publicise where we’re from for VisitBritain.

I aligned my designs with Bristol’s own historical museum M Shed. I focused my approach on Bristol’s nautical history, with phrases like “ship shape and Bristol Fashion” forefront in my mind.

The final designs I produced are for a series of children worksheets. Double-sided they feature historical details and activities about famous Bristolian sea travellers: those who’ve stepped from Bristol Harbour onto ships, into the history books. I designed two issues, John Cabot, and Blackbeard, each design folded, with the accompanying instructions into their signature vessel, for the children to then play with.

Both the designs and the illustrated folding guide went into a pack wrapped inside a large format poster for the children to take away with them from M Shed.
Thank you!
