Illustration of a fable

This is a illustration of a fable called "The Forest and The Lumberjack".
"The Woodsman has lost the handle of his axe. And while he didn't replace him, the Forest had a few days of peace. At last our man begged the Forest to let him take just one more branch to make another handle. He promised that he would get out of there to earn his living elsewhere, that he would leave this oak and that tree, this and that pine, in peace, which everyone admired for their age and leafiness. The innocent Forest has provided you with new weapons. And regretted it. As soon as the Woodsman repaired his axe, he proceeded to strip the benefactress of her best trees. The Forest moaned every second; the gift he had so generously given was the instrument of his pain. This is how the World acts: evil is done against those who do good. I'm tired of repeating. Ingratitude and abuse will always be in fashion"
