Small Apartment in London

Small Apartment in London
This is a project that I did back in 2021, for an apartment in Kings Cross, Central London.

It’s a small 430 sq. ft. flat, fully refurbished to accommodate up to two people. The flat was part of a maisonette which was divided into 4 flats of about 375-430 sq. ft. each.

The project involved the interior design and rendering and the main challenge was to utilize the space and at the same time create distinct areas to serve as bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room/home office.

A muted creamy color palette and a minimalistic approach ensured that the light reflects harmoniously and makes the flat airy and inviting. Repetition and monotony was avoided by introducing a combination of materials and textures like rough plaster wall finishes, reclaimed wood, stone floor and clay tiles. Apart from creating an interesting visual pattern, the low reflectivity of the materials used, assisted in minimizing harsh light bouncing and gave a soft vibe to the flat.

An overall interesting project which despite the challenges it presented, actually proved that a small space can be functional and aesthetically pleasing.
