Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a widely misunderstood mental illness that can show up in children as early as 4, but often goes undiagnosed thanks to the misunderstandings around it. This children's book seeks to lift the veil and explain OCD in a way that both kids and adults can understand and process in a healthy, fear free way.
This project is very personal to me, as I suffer from OCD myself, and upon reflection I have been suffering from it well into my childhood. There were no resources for my habits and worries, so it was pushed under the rug. We had to explain a hard subject to kids, and I chose to make this as a book to my younger self.
This book would go on to further explain the symptoms, how they manifest, why they may manifest, and most importantly, what we can do to manage and relieve symptoms in a healthy way. If given the chance, I would love to come back and bring this project to completion.
