The Golden Joinery

After the massive blast in Beirut's Port, we're trying to rebuild a destructed coffee shop. The shop highlights our cracks, via coffee/tea ceremony and speaking out our emotions.
As we enter in the project, a linear line on the ground, representing the Gemmayze Street guide, guides us in the project. By entering, we can see the cracks with the name of the shop "The Golden Joinery", and pictures of the beautiful Lebanon on the screens.

The linear line continues with the stairs that takes us to the mezzanine, the place of the board games, projections, debate and Kintsugi art therapy... The clients share their struggles and transform their hardships into gold.

If we go left, there is different type of seats with the view of the street; and an int/ext. bar. The floor is divided by 2: the traditional tiling representing the past, joined with the gravel representing the dust of the blast by the golden line.

By going right, we're forced to spend on gravel to take the order on the bar service, or to sit on the Japanese seats (coffee ceremony). we can pass to the tables through a slope under the stairs. The false ceiling highlights the golden lines on the floor with the linear recessed lights with the gypsum board.
