«.. and we also have two young children … and a cat…» — this phrase was decisive, so our new motto for this project became — hide everything!

Hidden storage places, mortise handles, kitchen hidden behind coplanar doors – doing this allows not only for a visually clean, sharp interior but also keeps little troublemakers from making a mess of the home.

Immediately upon entering through the front door, you are greeted by the common space. Eyes are instantly drawn to the accent round dining table, which you will want to decorate with lush bouquets of fresh flowers.

We paid special attention to the central zone because this is where the family will spend their cozy weekend dinners, relaxed holiday parties, and even weeknight work sessions.

Kitchen

All the work areas with all necessary appliances for cooking are hidden by the light facades of the kitchen. With this solution, small children will never be able to play with dangerous devices or reach higher cabinets, and the cat will have no chance to jump around the work area.

Open space

The heat-insulated sun room with a console table is hidden by a sliding frameless frosted glass partition, this allows privacy yet saves natural light in the dining room.

Another important detail of this interior is its own door for the cat. Whatever designer and minimalist litter box the clients bought, they would always want to hide it from prying eyes, and standard mortise doors will never become an interior decoration.

We started solving this problem and the first thing we did was to choose the ideal location for the cat entry. Since the original idea was to hide the litter box on the bottom shelf of the closet in the guest bathroom, the best place was its adjacent wall to the living room.

But what to do if this wall is a view?

We solved this problem by covering the entry in the niche with wooden shelves for decoration. Therefore, the cat can go straight into the closet to its litter box which will always be hidden by the closed door.

Master bedroom

The master bedroom is hidden behind sliding pocket doors in a wood finish. On the front the doors flow together with the walls when they are closed, therefore allowing for extra space in the hall. When they are open, the wide space allows for a significant increase in the amount of natural light in the apartment.

Children's room

Children's rooms are economically designed in the general style of the apartment and the accent colors help create their own little world for play and creativity. The platforms of the children's beds serve not only to gently zone the space but also to help win the game – “Floor is Lava”.

Master bathroom

We designed the master bathroom in the touch of the main interior space. Warm beige envelops the whole room and creates an atmosphere of calmness that invites to take a warm bath after a hard working day.

Guest bathroom

The guest bathroom on the opposite is distinguished by its dark coloring. It creates an effect of surprise and secrecy, echoing the main room only with a beige stone washbasin. By design, all the necessary wash accessories including the mirror are hidden in a niche covered by a façade.

To the right of the main washbasin, a large closet is placed, the same one through which the cat door opens. Extraordinary, wouldn’t you agree?

The materials

Light pastel colors envelop the whole apartment with warmth and calmness, contrasting the sculptural monolithic effect of the interior design. Wooden elements such as window jambs, built-in shelves, and wall panels add coziness, and natural accents in just the right places. Dark shadow gaps and a contrasting bathroom make the interior expressive and complete.
