It must have been over a year ago since I first sat down with Michele to discuss a plan to create works for her Tea Houses that people could take home with them, a way to help recreate the feelings they felt when drinking their tea at Comins. Well a year flew by with very little time to work on the project until a window of opportunity opened at the beginning of May Im a true believer that opportunities reveal themselves at the right time and that you have to just be open to receiving them, as my diary cleared to be able to start work on the illustrations so Michelle was about to embark on a wonderful new project at Shatwell Farm where the new Comins Tea House was being built but before that she and Jenny were about to travel to Japan and Taiwan to source new tea ware and teas for the tea house, they would send me reference photographs to help with the illustrations, it felt like one of the most collaborative projects ive worked on. after the illustrations were finished we looked at a way to present them in the Tea house or should I say on the Tea house as it had long been a dream of Michelles to have work pasted onto her Tea Houses so we decided to Wheatpaste the illustrations onto the tea house in three areas a massive thank you to the newspaper club for their help with this. These are the first two and they will be soon be joined by another two, you can also purchase these from my store and soon from Comins Tea X Shatwell farm.
