nanoSense Design Concept

This is a week-long group project at the Imagination Lab in 2023.
The background setting is that some humans have already migrated to Mars in 2060s, what kind of brand will our team like to create on Mars?
After discussions, our group decided to build a luxury fashion brand.
The project I managed: Graphic design (including brand name), Marketing planning and research.
這是為期一週 Imagination Lab 的小組專案。
背景設定是 2060 年已經有部分人類移居到火星上了,那麼我們組會想在火星上創立什麼品牌?
經過反覆討論後,我們組決定做時裝品牌。
我負責的項目:平面設計(含最終品牌名稱)、行銷規劃與研究調查。

nanoSense is a luxury fashion brand that offers bespoke sophisticated and delicate styles.
The name inspiration by 'nanotechnology' and 'skin', since we were going to create a brand in the fashion industry, therefore 'nanoSense' were created. ​​​​​​​
nanoSense 是一個奢華時尚品牌,提供精緻的訂製高科技時裝。
名字靈感來自「奈米科技」和「肌膚」,時尚品牌就是穿在人身上的東西,所以認為「nanoSense」可以貼切地表達我們的品牌。
nanoSense is a brand set up at after 50 years world, associated with high technology, the future, and fashion. Based on research showing luxury brands transitioning their logos to sans-serif fonts in recent years, which is able to align with modern digital display. Therefore, nanoSense adopt a sleek, minimalist sans-serif font. This will project nanoSense's futuristic identity and values across today's technology platforms while retaining an air of elegance and style. 
nanoSense 是 50 年後創立的品牌,品牌特質與高科技、未來、時尚相關。經過研究後發現近年來許多奢侈品牌不約而同地將他們的 Logo 都轉變為無襯線字體,為了能夠讓 Logo 在數位裝置上也能良好展示。因此 nanoSense 也同樣採用時尚、簡約的無襯線字體,並能夠呈現未來感,同時保留優雅和時尚的氛圍。
I did research about the environment on Mars which is quite different from the Earth, I believe that the Martians have a preference for warm colours (red, yellow and orange) and dark colours (far from the sun compared to the Earth), which are influenced by their natural environment. Therefore I choose warm and dark colours as the colour scheme. 
我對火星的環境進行了研究,火星的環境與地球有很大不同,我認為火星人偏愛暖色(紅色、黃色和橙色)和深色(與地球相比,離太陽較遠),這是受其自然環境的影響。 因此我選擇暖色和深色作為色彩計畫。
After nanoSense officially launch on Mars, a series of marketing campaigns will be held. 
This chart lists the expected marketing activities for the first year and will continue to track the results after half a year, then set up a marketing plan for the next 3 years.
It will focus on explaining the fashion show: 'Veer', and speculative design on advertising design in the 2060s.
在 nanoSense 正式登陸火星後會舉辦一系列的行銷活動,此圖排出了第 1年的預計行銷活動,並將在半年後率續追蹤成效,已確立接下來3年的行銷規劃。
將聚焦說明 fashion show: veer 與 50年後的廣告設計推測。
The reason to choose 'Veer' as our theme is that earthmen choose to immigrate to Mars, their lives must undergo many changes. Just like immigrating to other countries on Earth, there will be many thoughts, behaviours, and things that are assumed to that need to 'change directions'; I also want to add the elements of the planet such as 'circle' and 'curve'. I think the word "Veer" preciously communicates the concept I want, thus I named the first fashion show on Mars 'Veer'.
第一個行銷活動是舉辦時裝秀:Veer。
因為我們是火星上創立的第一個奢侈品牌,於是小組討論後我們決定舉辦時裝秀,將會邀請地球上的奢侈品牌一起參加。

Veer 是英文的「轉向」、「改變方向」的意思。
地球人選擇移民到火星,他們的生活勢必有很大的改變,就跟在地球上移民到其他國家一樣,會有很多想法、行為跟習以為常的事情需要「轉向」;再加上想要加上星球的元素「圓」、「曲線」等等,覺得「Veer」這個詞可以傳達出我要的概念,因此取名 Veer。

Speculative design: Holographic Try-On
I suppose that the form of advertising after 50 years will be able to walk in specific streets and wear clothes by holography. 
The concept is shown above.
Mars is farther away from the Sun (compared to the Earth), and the dark time will be longer than on Earth. Hence, it is considered that the projection try-on (which requires a darker environment) is feasible on Mars.

推測設計
我推測 50 年後的廣告形式可以做到「走在特定街區,用投影的方式試穿衣服」,概念如圖所示。
火星距離太陽較遠(相較於地球),黑暗的時間會比地球長,因此認為投影試穿(需要較黑暗的環境)在火星上可行。
