CLARA WRITING DESK

From my mission to go in search of cheap but more durable furniture, less rooted in the mechanics of fast furniture, the Clara desk was born as a piece of furniture designed for the home but also suitable for the office environment.
The name Clara reflects the clarity in the use of materials, the most important stylistic component is in fact the plywood left exposed, without veneer, on the front and back of the shelves and legs. This is a stylistic choice, but it is also a decision linked to maintenance over time, as it is the veneer of the edges that, undergoing the greatest abuse, tends to get damaged and "peel" more often in less expensive furniture.

The cascade design of the interlocking elements and drawers, made of plastic, wants to recall the idea of circularity, and create a soft and elegant design.Another distinctive element are the trays for removable objects placed inside the drawers. The aim of the project is to merge contrasting materials, representing the artificial and the natural, united in a harmonious object and through this to give value to raw materials that have all the potential to be highly robust and long-lasting, but which are not perceived as valuable or able to produce a quality product, often for simple reasons of cost or origin.
