I plugged the machine into the outlet in the RISD beach. I made an observational drawing of the whale sculpture. 

I printed the scanned drawing onto a 24in by 36 in paper. I transfered the print onto canvas with matte medium. my brush strokes are in respond to the drawing machine's mark making.

I mounted the motors directly onto the canvas. I drew a self portrait with the machine. I tried to use the density of the clolored fragments to illustrate space and distance.
