Proposed Design Vision
Considering the core value propositions of Yahoo Groups that still remains the mailing list and many users are still using the offering for that. Hence the re-imagined vision should not aim at changing the current user behavior very significantly. In stead of designing a new website experience for Yahoo groups site, the existing email groupware experience should be re-imagined as an in-app experience that provides flexible, diverse and easily customizable features for different user segments. On a high level design direction the groupware interaction should be more actionable, sociable and productivity oriented. Use of activity dashboard and notification based alert systems could be considered.
