Challenges & Ideation
Traditionally, selling online is not easy for local businesses, one major barrier is the continuous efforts needed in building and maintaining the online listings. The concept of eBay Likes is to empower local businesses to easily connect to online shoppers by leveraging the street shoppers provided references.
Research
A Local Shopping In-store Exploratory Research was referenced, which shows shoppers are more social than online shopping because of the time pressure of a trip, and they need advice/planning right away.
Scenario
Following is a storyboard of the finalized scenario how a street shopper shares a product and helps bring a local business online.
Flow Diagrams & Wireframe
I created wireframe & flow diagrams depict every interaction that customers and merchants are able to reach.
Prototyping
We developed wireframe into mobile / web prototypes.
Outcome
The idea was selected to be presented to senor executives in 2013 eBay Skunkwork Expo. A patent application for this idea has been filed in April 2014. Further implementation of the project is in process.
