The Legacy of Tengger Caldera
Mount Bromo or in Tengger language spelled "Brama", also called Tengger Caldera, is an active volcano in East Java, Indonesia. The mountain has an altitude of 2,329 meters above sea level and is within four districts, namely Probolinggo District, Pasuruan District, Lumajang District, and Malang District. The body shape of Mount Bromo is intertwined between valleys and canyons with a caldera or sea of sand covering an area of about 10 square kilometers, it has a crater with a center line of ± 800 meters (north-south) and ± 600 meters (east-west). While the danger area is a circle with a radius of 4 km from the center of the Bromo crater.
