Objects should be somehow part of its designer.

In this project I was asked to create a new family of whatever, based on my family.
The first thing I did was to analyse the relationships among my family members, and I realized that the main challenge I had to deal with is that, usually when you analyse something, it is because you need to know that something better. In this case, it was the opposite à I already knew them, so what I had to do was to quantify and clarify the messy cloud of relationships I had on my head.

So I made a relationships diagram and I realized that in my big family I have two different families and they are somehow connected through me.
And following with the analysis, the next step was to find the main features of every single member of my family. In order to make it more interesting, what I took into account was not just their opinion about themselves nor mine, but a mixture of both opinions.
So I created a kind of chart representing them and their importance. For example, if we agreed the feature became more important.

The conclusion of the analysis was that my family is clearly splitted into two different nucleus with me as a common element acting as a connector.
Appart from that, every single member of my family has its own features and definitions which should be respected and showed.

Moreover, all of the different family members (objects) should be able to exist and work on their own, and, at the same time, they should be part of a bigger concept.

Having all of this into account, the proposed solution was to represent them as differenciated shelves connected by a structure which would be me.

And the structure had to work by itself. It had to be like me, complex and simple at the same time.
As a personal project, this is never ending story-project. I’m sure it will improve and change over the years.
