EXHIBITION: A PRINTMAKER'S ECOTONE

"A Printmaker's Ecotone-Exhbition on Display in Colorado State University's Lory Student Center as the Spring 2023 Show in the Hallery space.
Artist's Statement:

ECOTONE: noun. a region of transition between two biological communities.

PEYTON FARNUM is a third-year studio art major at CSU with a concentration in printmaking. As a devout nature-lover and passion-driven artist, she discovered her affinity for traditional printmaking practice during her college career as she entered a period of self-reflection. Using the print processes she learned, Peyton dove deep into her conscious memory and how it intertwined with her perceptions of herself, her emotions, and the love she experiences for the natural world around us all.
This debut solo exhibition highlights the convergence between the safe spaces of nature and art practice, functioning as her personal ecotone that made Peyton who she is today. This collection serves as both a fond echo of her past and a call to the personal potential she has found within her fierce intrigue in printmaking. Peyton invites viewers to reflect on and accept the emotion that remembrance brings, and how our perceptions and our environments aid us in forging our own paths.
