Step-by-step progress of the illustration, from the original sketch to the finished drawing.
From top to bottom :
1 - original sketch on bad quality paper, using a H pencil.
2 - clean drawing on a tracing paper, using a HB pencil. I use a lightbox so I can copy the mirror image of the drawing.
(but I inverted the photo to keep the continuity)
3 - I rub the other side of the tracing paper with a burnisher, in order to transfer the drawing on the final paper (Montval Watercolour paper, 300g).
4 - I use my “Black Smooth” pencil to ink the final image.
