Rolling Vans - Case Study
ABOUT THE PROJECT | SOBRE O PROJETO

This is a personal project for the "Skate Brands" challenge, created by Layer Lemonade.
My focus is on using the most number of references to Vans products. I opted the classic grid textures, the rays representing the own tennis in central focus of the animation, in addition to shapes and textures that are related to the radical and funky style that marks the Vans skate line. The colorful palette comes to reinforce this young and diverse identity.
The mixed media style combines quite well with the brand, even used in other Vans videos. I decided to work on this animation with 15 fps with the idea of referring to old cartoons.

Este é um projeto pessoal para o desafio "Skate Brands", criado por Layer Lemonade.
Meu foco nessa animação é utilizar o maior número de referências aos produtos da Vans. Por isso, optei pelas texturas quadriculadas clássicas, os raios representando o próprio tênis que é o foco central da cena, além de formas e texturas que tem relação com o estilo radical e descolado que marca a linha skate da Vans. A paleta colorida vem pra reforçar essa identidade jovem e diversificada.
O estilo mixed media combina bastante com a marca, inclusive utilizado em outros vídeos da Vans. Decidi trabalhar nessa animação com 15 fps com a ideia de remeter a desenhos animados antigos.
