After designing the visual identity for 5th Gymnasium — one of the best and oldest high-schools (with a mathematical emphasis) in Zagreb — it was time to make a monograph outlining their 70 year-old history. I decided to package the book in a pencil-case, filled with school utensils (pens, pencils, rulers, etc.) The book itself was designed to look like a notebook, and was printed in two colors — green and black. Apart from being the school colors, this had other advantages: naturally, it lowered the cost of printing, and unified the look of the dozens of variable quality photographs. It all had to be perfectly functional and of course branded. The case itself was custom made for the project in a small factory, along with the sewn logotype on the front and the spine.
