"... pass me another tortilla" "Would you bring me more tortillas please? and my bill... "A fundamental part of happiness in Mexico City is food, a special occasion for any kind of personal, family and even loving relationship, in order to share a "great food feast".

At lunchtime, mexicans are hungry, in search for an energy boost. Before passing out, they evaluate the best gastronomic offer that they usually find out at the traditional "fondas", which offer the "comida corrida" or "economic food" that flourish in the capital; which are mainly managed and served by amazing Mexican women. The gastronomic experience that is lived in a "fonda", commonly involves two elements that all Mexicans must follow: being assigned to a table and the tortillas. It is well known among Mexicans that a meal without tortillas is not a meal.

For that reason, the "tortillero" becomes that flying object, which passes through the hands of all, becoming the guest star that cannot miss...

Beyond being the basis of our diet, it exalts our culture, identity, coexistence and even our way of giving love.

¡A falta de pan, tortilla!  (for a-lack of bread, tortilla!)
