Housing Estate | Atrial and Terraced Houses

The subject of the study is a project of a housing estate located in Kraków, in Bronowice at Stelmachów Street. The selected development area has an area of 7.7 ha. According to the Local Spatial Development Plan, the plot is intended for single-family housing. The plot has a shape similar to a rectangle with an extension to the south-west.
The plot is located among residential buildings, mainly single-family terraced houses. There are also single detached buildings and semi-detached houses. Currently, the area is a huge glade, which is used primarily by the inhabitants of the area. However, these are not the only green areas in the vicinity. On site we will find many clusters of trees emerging from between buildings. An additional advantage of the local flora is the nearby stream, which additionally enriches the landscape.
There are two entrances to the estate from the west. The houses are arranged around a diamond-shaped retention reservoir located in the central part of the plot. Between the entrances to the plot there is a car park for residents and guests, it has 100 parking spaces, including 4 for the disabled.

The building is shaped like an elongated "L" and was built as a vestibule house. The entrance area is set back slightly and the flat roof extended, giving the building more depth. The buildings were created by connecting the solids with their sides, and then by extending and withdrawing the building relative to each other. Finally, the whole was mirrored and connected by the back sides.
The building is single-story. In the hall there is a door to the technical room. Further in the middle of the building there is a day zone with a living room and dining room and, separated by a partition wall, a kitchen. There are three entrances in the corridor: to the bathroom and two bedrooms. In addition, the building has a separate, small garden.

The building is a continuation and reference to the previously mentioned atrial houses, with the exception that the letter "L" is inverted, and therefore the layout of the rooms is slightly different. The development was created by connecting the shorter side with the longer side in such a way as to refer to and be an integral part of the diagonal line of the street.
