Lino Printing and Needle Felting in the classroom

Lino Printing and Needle Felting
 in the classroom
I have co-ordinated the parents craft group at my daughters school for the past few years, for Christmas 2022 I organised a Christmas Craft market with local producers that was a great success, and I organised a needle crafting and lino printing Christmas card activity. The previous year we made felt angels that were surprisingly easy to make! My daughter goes to a Steiner School so promoting hand crafts has been the main agenda of the parent craft group. It's amazing what small  hands can do, given the chance. It was a bonding experience for many parents and children too. I love facilitating crafts that parents can see how they can do it at home. The materials are all reasonably priced and easily bought from any art shop.
Rubbing the paper with a spoon is just as good when you don't have a press! The water based ink is easy to clean up, no need for smelly white spirits. I printed off the following verse that the school sings in Winter:

Shine little light, and show us the way
to the bright lights of Christmas Day
I loved the image and printed my own Christmas cards,  onto watercolour paper.
I pre-sewed the felt Christmas trees and cut out the bauble shapes for the kids to needle on.
The kids needle felted the baubles onto the trees at the Christmas Festival in the school, in the craft room. I put out beads they also could sew on.
