This is the implemented project of the Memorial - a memorial monument and fraternal burial of the defenders of Kyiv during the Second World War, located in the village of Hatne, near Kyiv, Ukraine.

During the excavations at the site of one of the battles, a search team of historians discovered the remains of nearly 40 soldiers, most of whom were identified.

Among the found remains were both Wehrmacht soldiers and Soviet military personnel, including the remains of General Shamrilo, who was supposed to command the defense of Kyiv in 1941 but disappeared during the retreat of Soviet forces.

The remains of Wehrmacht soldiers were transported to Germany, while this Memorial was created for the burial of all others.

The central element of the composition is a diagonal path, precisely directed from east to west, so that the setting sun shines directly on the memorial sign made of concrete, reinforcement, and black rusty metal, symbolizing the ruins of fortification structures and other traces of war.

The rest of the landscape and the overall aesthetics of the complex were conceived as a reference to the scenery that was once devastated by war but then healed and flourished. Only old graves and remnants of damaged concrete and metal remind us of the events of the past.

Artificial burial mounds were created for the burials, and the burial sites were marked with white concrete cubes with Corten steel plaques.

Це реалізований проект Меморіалу - пам'ятного знаку та братського поховання захисників Київа часів Другої Світової Війни, в селищі Гатне, під Київом.

Пошукова команда істориків під час розкопок на місці однієї із битв знайшла залишки майже 40 воїнів, більшість з яких були ідентифіковані. 

Серед знайдених рештків були як рештки солдат вермахта, так і рештки радянських військових, зокрема рештки генерала Шамрило, який мав керувати обороною Київа  у 1941 році, але зник під час відступу радянських військ. 

Рештки солдатів вермахта були перевезені до Німеччини, а для поховання усіх інших був створений цей Меморіал.

Вісью композиції є діагональна доріжка, спрямована точно по напрямку схід-захід, з тим щоб сонце на закаті світило просто на пам'ятний знак, виконаний із бетону, арматури та чорного іржавого металу, як відсилка до руїн фортифікаційних споруд та інших слідів війни.

Решта ландшафту, та й взагалі естетика комплексу, замислювалася як відсилка до пейзажу, що колись був понівечений війною, але потім загоїв рани та знов розквів - лише старі могили та рештки понівеченого бетону та металу нагадують про події минулого.

Для похованнь були створені штучні кургани, місця поховання були відзначені білими бетонними кубами зтабличками із кортен-сталі.
