Dressing the Screen - D&AD

Brief

Create a bilingual identity for the Dressing the Screen exhibition. Reflect the high-fashion and moving image nature of the exhibition through the physical graphics, way-finding, web presence, brochure and print design.

Concept

2 cutting process in 1

In Fashion Design and Film Making, cutting is the process that both share in generating works in different mediums. A cut seperates objects into 2, so I used this concept to lay out 2 different languages and arrange them in a cropped visual illusion. The bilingual identity can be reflected by placing English on the left, and other languages that need to be used in future on the right. This identity follows by a sleek and minimal look to capture the elegance in fashion. All white texts on black papers are foil blocked and debossed, including the invitation card and catalogue.

A trailer CD is included in the invitation card.

English title is silk screened on a half transparent cropped paper while the Russian title is printed in silver on the black cover.
