IGNITE Cai Guo-Qiang

"Destroy Nothing, Create Nothing" — this is the philosophy of the famous artist Cai Guo-Qiang. He is known largely for the use of gunpowder in his works to express himself and his thoughts on various issues of the world.

The exhibition is named IGNITE and is to promote the works he has done using gunpowder and will be held in Singapore Arts Museum. The poster will be suspended from the ceiling so people can view it from both sides. The front has his last name "Qiang" in chinese characters formed by imitation gunpowder formed with black sand and other materials, while the back shows the blown up version of the character. The 4 matchsticks symbolises the impact of the explosion to create the artwork.
A tactile poster + invitation card for Cai Guo-Qiang's exhibition in Singapore
The poster is accompanied by a private invite to the launch of the exhibition which will be sent to famous artists in Singapore. It comes in a form of a matchbox with only 4 matchsticks, which allows the receiver to catch a glimpse of what the exhibition will be about without seeing a picture of the actual product.
Thank you for viewing this project!
