THROUGH THE LANDSCAPE

The "through the landscape" revitalization project was created as a response to the deepening degradation of the city of Tarnato located in the region of Apulia in southern Italy. It assumes the introduction of a new landscape that will grow over time and create a new quality space serving the city and its inhabitants. Since it is almost impossible to introduce one perfect solution that will work immediately and solve all existing problems, the idea behind the project is to create a starting point for the future process of urban healing. Starting from the northern waterfront of Citta Vecchia, the new landscape unfolds around Mar Piccolo and takes advantage of unused and neglected public space. The aim is to attract people and future investments to the sea, which plays an important role in the region. The project gives this space to the residents with the existing infrastructure reused or a new one added. It will be the background for a wide range of activities carried out by various organizations or communes related to education, sport and recreation of the inhabitants.
