Prompted to create a pendant around object from my childhood, I found a small pendant from a trip to Murano. A small glass fish in a glass bag, the charm symbolized my youthful fascination with both fish and jewelry.

 

I set the fish in a construction of sterling silver wire, inspired by the common circular millefiori pendants, and playing with the concept of cane elements to experiment with different elevations. The pendant hangs from an accordingly scaled-up bail on a piece of silver wire meant to evoke the leather cord traditionally used, which closes with a small segment of handmade chain.
