Junior Tailoring: Spring Final (2014)
This look consists of a fully tailored, merino wool jacket, skirt with draped flap, and machine knitted sleeveless top. For my entire collection, the silhouettes share the common thread of a sense of melting, roundness, and soft angles. All living things start off as blank canvases and by the end, they are painted over with a series of events. The idea of smearing paint, constantly distorting what came before it, led me to using fluid and organic shapes. I also push the concept of layering as a metaphor for a lifetime’s progression. Laying planes on top of one another symbolizes the stacking of milestones.
