Concept: Card game for travel
Location: Souvenir shop in airport / Gift Shop (ex. Loft)

When traveling, card games will be one of the indispensable items. Therefore, being able to learn about the country while enjoying card games would help deepen player's knowledge and make the trip more interesting, that's why I created "Gyoujifuda", which means event cards. Gyoujifuda is a card game inspired by a Japanese playing card, Hanafuda, with the theme of events and festivals in each country.

I made Gyoujifuda inspried by 6 countries. There are 4 countries that are made as an actual box game, including Thailand, Japan, Spain, and the Netherlands The remaining 2 countries, India and the Philippines, were only for illustration/digital files.
Target + Purpose: Young people nowadays make their own travel plans, therefore the target is young people around the world who love to travel. This playing card is a great source of information that can be used as a reference when planning for the trip. Thus, one can enjoy looking back on the good memories of one's trip while palying the cards if one buy them as a souvenir.
How to play: As same as Hanafuda. However, some people don't know how to play, so instruction is included in the package.
Design: While remaining the aesthetics of the old-fashioned design of Hanafuda, I added a bit of contemporary art-style illustrations and designed it to suit each country art style. Moreover, as it is a card game that can be used as a souvenir or as a way to kill time when traveling, I made it with compactness and portableness in mind.
The illustrations for the front and back of each card indicate the characteristics of each event, which are easy to recognize what festival it is by the natives. The shape of the card is redesigned to be easy to use while pleasing to the eyes when they're lined up. The packaging and instructions manual is designed to express the aesthetic and characteristic of each country. Moreover, I created Gyoujifuda website as an online store as well as a platform for further in-depth information about each event for people who want to learn more about each countries' events and festivals.
