Depicting leisure in the late 1800s and early 1900s, this deck of playing cards allows the viewer to learn of the activities participated in after a long day's work at the mill or factory. When it came to leisure, games and sports were activities enjoyed by both lower and upper class and served as a bridge to the social hierarchy.
I created each card through the process of veneering and lamination. Once each card was created from the resulting plywood, I designed and transferred the images onto the cards.
