This stone-set ring is inspired by Ann Demeulemeester, a Belgian avant-garde fashion designer known for her slouchy and layered designs, as well as her extensive use of draping. The ring mimics the drapery in some of Ann Demeulemeester's leather pieces, creating a fluid and layered ring out of a single piece of metal. A raw crystal quartz was chosen for its rough, unrefined texture in contrast to the fluidity of the ring. The stone is set in a bezel between the two layers of metal, and the bezel is held in place to the top layer by the prongs.
