The idea of this piece came from the themes of two previous university assignments – disguise, masking and portraying something that you are not.
I interpreted these ideas in the form of a programme for the musical The Phantom of the Opera. By making the pages different dimensions I have masked some of the text, only hinting at what is following on the next pages. In doing this I have created depth, with a number of layers forming. I used the traditional letterpress process to handprint letters on to selected pages, heightening the intrigue and tactile nature that is The Phantom of the Opera.
