3D printed light
What I want:
1) something that can be changed (e.g. flexible, movable) so it's not rigid and boring.
2) something that's clean and simple.
3) I liked how the light is embed along the inside of the lamp.
This is my first version of the design, this is how the lamp would look after all the assembly. The two triangles are not touching each other therefore there's room for movements.

This lamp would be separated into eight triangles instead of printing as a whole, it would use/ waste less material doing by doing so.
I then melt opened 3 of the triangles so it would fit in the bottom 3 then I added 1 triangle on each end to finish up this hollow pyramid. The connected parts between the triangles were gently melted together with the heat knife.
I liked how doesn't only have one form but the structure is too small and thin, it's not suitable for a lamp so I've enlarged the design and thickened it.
because this version is a lot more thicker than the original one it will not look good if I melted the model to create the opening so I've asked one of the technicians to help me make a opening on the tip of 3 triangle so I can fit these 3 to the other 3 like the first model.
Assembling was a little difficult, it took me awhile but with some brain cells and a tape I managed to put everything together:D
I melted it all together. It fits right but it looks burnt and has a lot of potholes. so I took it home and sanded it down.
The supermodel looks more chunky but it's still movable and much more sturdier, I think it's perfect as a lamp therefore I made no further changes to my model.
It looks much cleaner than what I had before:D
In my original plan, I was going to put lights all around the gaps that the triangles created inside (as shown on the picture above) but the light that was given to us in the studio were not in stripes, it was a small LED light so we could only use our imagination for this part.

however I've took some pictures with the studio light anyways just so we could see how it would look when lit up. Here is the final result:D
