Objective
Using a specific design style from history in graphic deisgn, make a poster for about a campus problem.

Approach
For this poster project the art style I researched was Art Deco and De Stijl. I found out how drastically different the two styles were to the reaction of people after World War I had occurred. Before World War I, is when Art Deco was popular with rich color, decorative style and use of geometric shapes. In my poster I decided to focus on Art Deco and using styles from that specific art movement. My poster is a picture of the Multicultural Center, here on UNL campus.
Poster Rough Sketches
My original sketches were very rough, because I couldn't decide whether to do Art Deco or De Stijl style of art design. After I finally decided which style I wanted to go with. I figure out that I liked the fifth design, but wanted to expand on it further to bring in characteristics from the style. This is why I went with the building many art deco posters had a large Image that took up most of the poster.
Progress & Changes
After my first attempt and looking at works from Cassandre, I needed to add more perspective into the building, see below as an example. I used google maps to get a picture looking up at the building to make it much large. I didn’t make the building too detailed to keep the geometric forms that were used in the art style. There are also gradients that are used. I found specific fonts that were similar to ones used during the time period.
