BATIK TRAPPED ON KNIT
BATIK TRAPPED ON KNIT
My design got inspired by tough women which involves the inspiration of the cowboy era. Where people used to wear boots made by genuine leather. to show the feminism in this high boot design, it’s not going to be made all in leather. the boot is going to be mixed with self-knitted material on some parts of the boot. First, for the leather part of the boot, I printed a batik design on it which I myself have designed through the inspiration of Batik Pekalongan, that comes from the island of Java. Second, for the self-knitted pattern, I make a pattern which got inspired by ‘Parang Rusak’ motif from Batik. My intention of using this batik design, is to introduce to foreign countries the art of batik and its origins
which are from Indonesia. Also to combine different cultures, western and eastern. This shoes got a Nominee of International Footwear Design Competition, at Guang Zhou, China.

KNIT COUNTRY
KNIT COUNTRY
My first design to combine knit and genuine leather. They’re my biggest passion in fashion. Got inspired by country girl and their boots, and about their self-manufacture such as knit clothes in that era. Besides the traditional technic to create a craftsmanship, there is also a modern technic on this design with laser cutting and engraving.
