Objective:
The objective of this project was to design a book cover for a reference book on the subject of Animal Planet. I chose a specific subsection and titled it as "Kingdoms of Life - A Visual Encyclopedia of the Diverse Ecosystems of Aquatic Life".
Target Audience:
Individuals of all ages who are interested in aquatic life and ecosystems.
Design Direction:
I was trying to keep the book cover design to be as simple and as neat as possible. I chose a solid grid pattern with a color palette inspired from the ocean and the aquatic life. I placed different animal icons in each box of the solid grid, giving it a neat and systematic patterned look. In order for the grid-icon pattern to stand out, I chose solid grey as the background, which would create a good contrast against the main design elements.
