The Safe Spaces project is a culmination of my dedication to creating a network of secure environments that prioritise safety and preparedness. Through this project, I aimed to develop a comprehensive system of strategically placed beacons in Wellington city, guiding individuals during major earthquake events. By effectively communicating evacuation routes and educating the public about the risks associated with earthquakes, Safe Spaces fosters a sense of security and empowers people to make informed decisions in times of emergency. I meticulously studied the topography of the city, leveraging my skills in spatial design to ensure the optimal placement of the beacons. This project not only showcased my ability to think critically and creatively but also highlighted my commitment to public safety and the well-being of communities. I am immensely proud of the impact that the Safe Spaces project can have in enhancing preparedness and creating a safer environment for all.
