Pixel Potions is a relaxing, potion making game for one player. The game is coded in Processing, a visual based Java program. This game was created as the final project in an entry level coding course. I chose to make a calming game because those are the types of games I love to play during finals season to relax after studying. This game represents a lot of hard work and many hours of problem solving. When I started this course, I had zero coding experience so I am incredibly proud of what I have accomplished in this game!

The gameplay starts with recieving a plea for help from someone in your village. They need a potion to help them in some way. You must collect the ingredients needed for this potion from the field and cave near your house. Make sure to avoid the snakes and bats that lurk in these areas or your customer will never get their potion! Once the ingriensnts make it to your cauldron, the potion is complete and you have helped your customer!
Creating this project started with just the home and field states. I added arrays and randomly spawned "ingredients" that were just colored squres. When you walked over an ingredient you needed and walked back home, it was subtracted from a total of "needed ingredients". When one side was working, I added the left cave side. Then I realized I wanted these areas to side scroll so I implemented that functionality. By this point I had enough pixel art completed to add most of it in. I added music made by Oliver Gladstone and sound effects. I was able to add quite a few features to the game that were not nessecary but build on the expereince, like the color of the potion changing as you add ingredients.
