NASA Artemis Moon Poster

NASA Moon Poster
Science Explorers Series

The NASA Moon Poster was developed in collaboration with the Science Mission Directorate and the Exploration Systems Development Mission Directorate in celebration of the Artemis II mission. Artemis Iwill be the first scheduled crewed mission of NASA's Orion spacecraft (in sky at left). The illustration depicts a NASA astronaut standing in the center of a crater at the lunar South Pole. Frozen water is shown just beneath the surface. NASA's Viper rover and a Commercial Lunar Payload Services lander flank the astronaut. The Artemis I launch can be seen reflected in the astronaut's visor. In the sky, the swoosh tracks NASA's journey from Earth to the Moon and beyond to Mars.

The artwork was created by compositing photographic and illustrative elements with NASA imagery, including surface textures captured by Apollo missions.
