The Bill of Rights- Neat and on the Rocks

The Bill of Rights- 11 by 14 Poster Design

Fall 2021

Overview- For this project, the objective was to design two contrasting 11” x 17” versions of the original Bill of Rights. While one version must be neat and emphasize legibility, hierarchy, and function. While the other version must be on the rocks and push the limits of visual expression to add or aid meaning and comprehension.
Design Thinking- For the neat I separated the articles into two columns while keeping the title and text before the articles centered in one column. I used a serif font for the header and san serif for the body copy. For the rocks I used a bold san serif font as a headed and turned half of the title to be vertical.
For the article numbers I made them bold so you could easily find them when looking at the big paragraph.
Challenges- For this project I really had trouble searching for the correct fonts to match the two versions of the Bill of Rights.
New Lessons- This project I learned more about how to match type color of paragraphs.
