Context: Once work from home and online education was quoted as the new normal, most of us invariably got accustomed to a longer screen time. With a longer screen time came a number of issues ranging from strained eyes to painful back issues. How can we tackle these issues with the help of a well designed laptop stand? Can that stand have more than a single purpose? This led me to take a deep dive into the ergonomics and design detailing of laptop stands and related table top accessories. After further research, followed by ideation and other finer detailing I was able to come up with a unique solution that could tackle the ergonomic issues and have another purpose altogether as well.

Design Brief: To design a laptop stand that also functions as the components of a geometry box, that can effectively use the space it occupies.

The form factor of the laptop stand could easily fit in the components of a geometry box. After further development of the sketches I could come up with a design where once the laptop stand is disassembled it can function as a set square, protractor, scale and a cutting mat.
