We Are Purposeful/Global Resilience Fund: Activist Portraits

These portraits are from a series I created for We Are Purposeful's Disability Justice Report. 
These three portraits feature Aminata, and two activists whose portraits and interviews sadly had to be redacted from the project for their safety, so I can only share their border designs. 
9 activist interviews and writings, including Aminata's are included in part of the report called 'Our Resistance', which can be found here. I've included the cover I drew for that section of the report here too.

The portraits include border details inspired by each activists home country/city and their interests.

Aminata is a young Disability Rights activist in her community in Sierra Leone and a member of a vibrant girls’ collective. She advocates for people with disabilities and demands action from community leaders. Her actions have resulted in passing a law in her community that now protects everyone with a disability in her community from harassment and abuse.
