We Are Purposeful/Global Resilience Fund: Activist Portraits
These portraits are 2 from a series I created for We Are Purposeful's Disability Justice Report. They features Crystal and Estefania, two activists whose interviews and writings are included in part of the report called 'Our Resistance', which can be found here.
The portraits include border details inspired by each activists home country/city and their interests.
Crystal is a Kenyan award-winning singer-songwriter, public speaker, human rights defender, and feminist activist. She founded the first visually impaired person support group in Mombasa, is an Amnesty International Board Member, and has received multiple awards for her music and activism.
Estefania is a Colombian feminist activist, journalist, and Disability Justice organiser that immigrated to Panama. Through her organising and journalism, Estefanía has been a steady advocate for herself and the larger community of women and girls with disabilities. She has organised many spaces for and by people with disabilities such as a workshop that brought together young women and girls with disabilities from across Panama.
