Some of my finished illustrations for 'Thumbelina'. I decided to give all the characters human forms, so I could characterize them more through facial expressions and clothes. Also this kind of interpretation feels more refreshing to me then the classic one. I think it's a great opportunity to experiment with visuals while working on something that most of us have gotten used to.
