"Despair" watercolor on Arches
Homeless - This painting is part of my project on the homeless issue. Many homeless people have mental issues, were raised in a household that gave them no sense of hope, or were even raised on the streets. Drugs are a big part of their lives. But honestly... I would use drugs as well if I had no place to lay my head, if I had to live out there in the elements. I think there is nothing more cruel than having no place to call your own. After the pandemic I just see a huge increase of people living on the streets.  We have big issues in our society and my goal is to make people think about the less fortunate with compassion instead of judgment. Hopefully the next generations will be willing to look for the source of problems in our world.
