Holy Trinity: Sculptural Practices
The Holy Trinity is often viewed as the multiple bodies or forms of Christ is a concept some Christians can’t really understand and without that understanding it can’t necessarily be explained. There seems to be a disconnect of self the more devoted or the deeper one is in certain sects of the Christian faith. The belief that your body is not yours and it “belongs” to Christ is a theme I grew up around and still hear today. The Christian body is seen as your eternal soul and that having a direct correlation to morality is off putting to me, moral greatness in Christian spaces is regarded as how devoted one is or if one is “saved”. The ways the human body exists and functions seems to be shunned, aspects of it at least. Humans like many other species are curious, most of us have high functioning minds which is a result of our brain being a muscle that needs to be trained or stimulated. How does the human body exist outside of the conservative Christian bubble? We are our bodies, whether or not the belief is we leave our bodies at some point currently we live in them. How are we functioning ? What are the elements that make us whole? Is there a connection between our mind and soul? How is morality measured? I would think a pure soul would correlate a pure mind.
