The First-Draft History of the Nashville Agricultural and Normal Institute, by Percy T. Magan and M. Bessie DeGraw was typeset (by me) in the spring of 2018. The mock-up was also created by me; the actual book is much smaller, with only 161 pages, and contains mostly prose, with the occasional interruption of more interesting formatting, like the schedule shown on the page above, or a number of short journal entries. The brief was very clear, and I was provided with another document to reference. Each chapter begins on an odd-numbered page, with two uniform headings and a drop-cap. The page numbers are centered on the bottom, and the margins are generous. The header of every left-hand, even-numbered page features a shortened title, "First Draft History," and opposite, the authors last names, "Magan and DeGraw."
