This poster was inspired by song My Cosmos Is Mine by Depeche Mode (2023).
When it comes to my own interpretation of the lyrics, this song is about setting boundaries and making them clear for the outside world to see and respect them.
In the "bridge" part of the song, we get to see a hint of that inner cosmos. It speaks a different language, more raw and intuitive. It's vulnerable and overwhelmed by all that's going on in the world.
And that's all the world is going to see of that cosmos, 'cause the conscious mind is back and ready to protect the inner cosmos like a parent to a child.

The music is so powerful and calming at the same time, it gave me strong metaphysical vibes that perfectly matched the themes I felt the lyrics were about.
To me, this was a wonderful excuse to visually explore a retro-futuristic style of illustration.
The singing voice(s) feels vulnerable and firm at the same time, like the small human figure climbing the stairway up to another world.
Will they be allowed to enter? Or are they both the gatekeeper and the foreigner at the same time?
